Researcher highlights mother's status in Islam

Researcher at Al Azhar International Observer, said that Islam granted women in general and mothers in particular great honour and respect

Dr. Osama Ibrahim, Researcher at Al Azhar International Observer, said that Islam granted women in general and mothers in particular great honour and respect.

Dr. Ibrahim mentioned, during a phone conversation with (Cairo Local Time ), that the Quran is full of orders and advice for the good treatment of parents, especially mothers.

He added that in Surah Al-Isra , Verse 23, God said " And thy Lord hath decreed that ye shall Worship none but Him, and unto parents shew kindness; and if either of them or both of them attain old age with thee, Say not unto them: pooh: And browbeat them not, and Speak unto them a respectful speech."

 He pointed out that the order to respect the parents comes in the verse just after the order to worship God alone, which affirms the importance of obeying and respecting parents.

He declared that the mother deserves this kindness and respect from her children because she spends all her life taking care of her children and tolerating all the pains and sufferings for their sake.

He finally said that among the examples of great mothers in Islam, Khadijah, the wife of Prophet Mohammed and the mother of his children.
