Ambassador Wafaa Bassim, Former Assistant Foreign Minister, commended the long-standing ties between Egypt and South Korea in such a way that witnessed cooperation partnership at many levels to the extent that its volume reached 3 billion dollars in many fields. She hailed the South Korean contribution to a great success Egypt pledges to achieve in the UN climate summit COP27 due in Sharm el-Sheikh in November 2022.
Commenting on significance of the current visit paid by South Korean President Moon Jae-in to Egypt, She stressed over her voice with Cairo Local Time that it comes for the time in his presidency since 2017 which indicates South Korea’s keenness to strengthen such collaborative efforts to increase volume of trade in Egypt as proven in various projects and mega projects on ground such as Dabaa nuclear power plant.
In the light of Jae-in's visit currently in Egypt, Bassim referred to new agreements at the economic level which promises new horizons of investment for the two countries. Further, she gave credit to the joint technological ventures for new job opportunities opened up for efficient technicians, engineers and scientists in Egypt.
At the touristic level, the ambassador lauded the two countries’ bilateral means of boosting diversified missions that reassured increasing flocks of tourists and strengthened their cultural bonds.
