Dr. Ibrahim El Sherbiny was delighted that he was chosen among the most influential scientists in the world as it is the second year in a row in the world ranking of 2%. This classification is issued annually from Stanford University, he declared.
Over the phone to (Cairo Local Time), he believes that the educational process at the pre-university level should be based on three main pillars: the first pillar involves the implementation of the STEM-based subjects i.e. science, technology, engineering and mathematics education. The second pillar is encouraging research and project-based education, he added, and the third pillar should involve building balanced personalities of students to gain the appropriate and intellectual skills.
As for the scientific research system, Dr. Sherbiny recommended developing and updating the regulations governing the activities of this kind of research and the technological development in order to achieve sustainable development. We should direct actual consideration to the future concerns for the development of different sciences to support innovation, he reaffirmed, urging to direct basic and applied research and studies that would serve the goals of sustainable development especially in the fields of energy, health, water and education. Moreover, he continued his appeals, we should prepare a new generation of researchers who are distinguished by the required scientific depth and the necessary experience.
He shed light on the challenges that used to face the field of scientific research, but in this era Egypt is witnessing a lap on this issue due to the special attention of the political leadership and President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi to the applied scientific research and its development through budget, internships, etc.
