Expert:"Know Your Country" enhances belonging to Egypt

Tourism Expert Dr. Madiha Ramadan said that the "Know Your Country" initiative launched by the Ministry of Tourism .

Tourism Expert Dr. Madiha Ramadan said that the "Know Your Country" initiative launched by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities aims at promoting the awareness of Egyptians and enhancing their belonging to their country and its culture.

Dr. Ramadan mentioned, during an interview with the daily program (Breakfast Show) that the initiative concentrates on promoting domestic tourism after the negative effects of the Coronavirus pandemic on the tourism sector and on the global economy in general.

She added that the initiative is also launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Education which organizes trips for school and university students to know more about their history and their heritage and become ambassadors for Egyptian tourism.

She finally pointed out that Egypt has 7 sites on the World Heritage List among them Abu Mena , an old Christian city in Alexandria, Ancient Thebes with its Necropolis, Historic Cairo, Memphis and its Necropolis including the Pyramids from Giza to Dahshur, Nubian Monuments as Abu Simbel and Philae, Saint Catherine Area and finally the Natural Heritage site of Wadi Al-Hitan.
