the President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi’s significant speech at the United Nations
Mr. Bahaa ElKoussy, Former Director of UN Information Center- USA, attached importance to President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi’s significant speech at the United Nations Climate Action summit in line with Egypt’s keenness to avert risks of global warming according to the 2015 Paris agreement on climate change mitigation. His speech tackles major global transition to renewable energy which file we have already made strides in, he elaborated.
Over his voice within Nile TV International Panorama on the president’s participation in the United Nations General Assembly 74 in New York, he highlighted that Egypt considers the issue of climate change as one of its top priorities towards sustainable development. We promote infrastructure, build new cities, prioritize sustainable agriculture and apply comprehensive health insurance system, ElKoussy added.
For his part, the summit is held not only for governments but also for the private sector, civil society, municipal authority and other international organizations to find ambitious solutions in the key areas worldwide to avert dangerous global temperature increase with potentially irreversible impacts.
According to him, Egypt is a pioneer in the region and it is a great opportunity to convene with world leaders on the sidelines of the assembly to exchange talks on sustainable development goals and durable peace Sisi pledged to achieve in all domains. Egypt always plays a leading role in the United Nations since its foundation 1945, he said.
