Dr. Mamdouh Antar, Director of the Training Center, Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources, said that the 2nd Cairo Water Week (CWW) focused mainly on the actions and plans needed to reduce water scarcity.
Dr. Antar mentioned, in an interview with the daily programme (Breakfast Show), that the CWW main theme was ‘Responding to Water Scarcity’, and the importance of rationalizing the use of water to meet our needs.
Moreover, he added that the CWW hosted many international organizations as (FAO), and many scientists and experts to exchange information and experiences on the best strategies to face water challenges.
He stressed the importance of using non-conventional water resources, and re-cycled water instead of depending mainly on the Nile River water.
He finally pointed to the importance of cooperation between ministries, civil society organizations and international partners to mitigate the usage of water and stop water pollution.
