In the light of a two-day official visit recently paid by Spanish Prime Minister Senchez to Egypt, Heba Ashraf, Lecturer of Economics, asserted Egyptian-Spanish deep ties amid colossal efforts by Egypt since 2015 to regain its trade position in Europe. The two countries pursue a concerted approach in many fields especially in the medical field, she illustrated, indicating Spain’s keenness on donating vaccines doses to Egypt.

Commenting on the talks held between Sisi and Senchez, she said over her voice on Cairo Local Time that they maintain bilateral cooperation in compliance to their agreements and promises they pledge to achieve at the economic conference held in Sharm El Sheikh in 2015. Since then, she added, transportation and trade deals have witnessed a quantum leap despite the outbreak of pandemic COVID-19 and its daunting ramifications.

As for the Egyptian-Spanish Business Forum launched under the co-chairmanship of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and his Spanish counterpart, she shed light on new horizons they cooperate to attain, aiming to boost investment in Egypt by engaging the business sector. As for the tourism sector, Egypt is always “the important focus point” for Spanish tourists, she concluded, mentioning that the two countries’ ties are promising to open up new prospects.
