Eng. Iman Allam, Restoration Specialist, said that the Restoration process of monuments safeguards them for future generations, and it is our duty to hand them on with their full authenticity.
Eng. Allam mentioned, during an interview with (Nile Cruise) program, that our monuments represent our past and losing them is like losing one’s memory.
She added that it is important, while restoring the monuments to be conscious of their human value and regard them as heritage to all mankind.
She pointed out that the restoration of monuments is a complicated process, that differs from one case to another according to the era and the material of the monument.
Further, Allam declared that among the challenges facing the restoration of monuments: the presence of ground water, pollution and humidity.
She finally stressed that the conservation process is a highly specialized operation that depends on scientific techniques and modern technology.
