Engineer Reem Hassan, Interior Decorator shed light on floral art saying that we don’t need to buy expensive flowers, moreover we can arrange them ourselves at home.
Hosted by (Breakfast Show), she said that we have to choose natural flowers of the season for preparing dining tables and putting center pieces in the area. In summer we use cheerful colours, he highlighted, as yellow, fuchsia and orange flowers; lilies, roses and tulips are good choices but to be on the safe side, white flowers are always preferable.
She stated that the Japanese arrangement “Ikebana” is very philosophical, so people prefer the free style by bunching flowers and cutting them in different heights then adding to them a green part called ‘oasis’ and sticking the flowers in it.
Hassan advised people to use natural flowers and maintain them at home. Illustrating, she referred to some flowers living more than a week and we can keep them fresh by changing water, cutting the bottom diagonally to have the most exposure to the water and remove leaves that have started to wilt.
In the same context, she clarified the importance of the matching: the container we put the flowers in need to match the style of the house, people can use crystal vases for classic furniture, while modern style homes need more minimalist arrangements that depend on a couple of flowers only with straight lines taller and shorter, and center tables require flat bunches of flowers.
For her part, Reem Hassan believed that every occasion has its flowers. For example Christmas and Valentine have special types and colours, wedding roses are white as they are elegant and cheerful but nowadays it is more fashionable to use tropical theme with big green leaves with the flowers.
