In the light of the recent visit paid by President of Guinea Bissau Umaro Embaló to Egypt, Former Assistant Foreign Minister Ambassador Mohamed El Shazly asserted that it is a link in the chain of the long-standing Egyptian-African cooperation over decades during which Egypt gave strong boosts to the continent’s progress.
Over his voice on (Cairo Local Time), he added that President Abdel Fattah e-Sisi since he took office pledged to maintain peace and achieve sustainable development and the 5-day Aswan Forum is a case in point. Commenting on its theme of Sustainable Peace and Development, he stressed Sisi’s insightfulness that those objectives are the most in need for Africa, one of the richest in natural resources.
Lauding Sisi’s address to the inaugural session, the ambassador admitted its importance as “pragmatic” as it tackles means of recovery and a new era in Africa with all-embracing reform in the face of “serious challenges”; the global pandemic, terrorism, conflicts, climate change, to mention a few.
Further, Shazly reassured that infrastructure is so paramount to attain any progress and so he believed that it comes within the ambitious projects as mentioned by President Sisi amid his agenda for sustainable development.
